English Dub Review: Bluelock “To Be Reborn”
Overview:
Isagi relies on “the smell of the goal,” his raw instincts, to make a move, and it leads to the fierce battle of “reading” each other’s hand with Team Y’s playmaker, Niko Ikki. Isagi and Niko’s battle as they both watch over the whole field and throw their ego at each other brings them to the last minute of the match. Can Isagi and Team Z beat Niko’s final strategy, “One Time Kill Counter”?
Our Take:
This anime continues to be one of the best sports anime I have watched. I love how different it is from other of its genre. There is no “we can get through this together” bs, there is a tiny bit of them working together as a team because they have to but that is about it. If you had been waiting for Isagi to make a move then this was the episode for you because I was left smiling most of the episode.
The animation has been phenomenal with the minor exception of some occasionally obvious CGI. But everything else has been awesome, I love the eye effect for players because it almost feels like they’re entering “Super Saiyan” or something.
Characters showing growth are always going to get me way more invested in your show. Seeing Isagi change how he reacted to being near the goal from the first episode was great. If this show keeps it up I might end up giving out the most 10s I ever have to Bluelock.
Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
