Disney, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon Announce December 2019 Primetime Event Specials

The kidsnets are kicking off December with a number of high-profile primetime premieres on just about every one of the channels with finales, premieres, specials, and everything in between. Check out what’s coming to Cartoon Network, Disney, and Nickelodeon in a couple of weeks. Check back for reviews for all.

Disney XD has announced the season two finale date for Marvel’s Spider-Man. The episode, entitled “Goblin War-Part Four” sees Spider-Man and his friends trying to stop the Goblin King (aka Vulture) before he destroys New York City. The episode premieres on December 1st @ 9:30-10:00 P.M. EST only on Disney XD.

On December 6th @ 7 pm ET/PT, Disney Jr. will feature a primetime special entitled Spookley and the Christmas Kitten. The adventure follows Spookley and Mistletoe, who encounter three stray kittens for whom they must brave a raging winter storm to find a home. The heartwarming tale is sure to please Spookley fans as well as parents, educators, and many others who will appreciate the positive messages and character values that define Spookley’s square character.

Nickelodeon Networks including Nick, TeenNick, and Nicktoons will simulcast The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage! with Tom Kenny (as “Patches the Pirate”)joining the cast of the Broadway musical which includes Ethan Slater as SpongeBob and Gavin Lee as Squidward, Danny Skinner as Patrick Star, Brian Ray Norris as Eugene Krabs and Wesley Taylor as Sheldon Plankton, with Christina Sajous playing the role of Sandy Cheeks.

The premise of the musical that is set for a national tour follows Bikini Bottom embracing for a possible apocalypse and will premiere December 7th @ 7 pm ET/PT, check your local listings.

Cartoon Network’s multiple award-winning Steven Universe will premiere its highly anticipated epilogue series, Steven Universe Future, with four back-to-back new episodes on Saturday, Dec. 07 (8:00p.m., ET/PT). The fan-favorite series returns after the successful release of Steven Universe The Movie, and continues the show’s narrative with additional episodes continuing to debut on Cartoon Network. Steven Universe Future is created by Emmy and Annie Award-nominated writer Rebecca Sugar, and produced by Cartoon Network Studios.

In the next installment Steven Universe Future, after saving the universe, Steven is still at it, tying up every loose end. But as he runs out of other people’s problems to solve, he’ll finally have to face his own. Haunted by the past and lost in the present, Steven begins manifesting new, uncontrollable powers that the Crystal Gems have never seen from him before. What does it all mean, and what does Steven want for his future?
