Details of a Rumored “Alien” Animated Series Surface

Let’s see if this thing has any weight.

I don’t quite like the source so let’s heed caution, but The Observer is reporting that an animated series inspired by Alien: Isolation is currently in the works that will most likely be made for an accompanying website produced to advertise the sequel to the very popular sci-fi horror game. The series will be of the R-rated variety and will probably paint a picture of anything that has went down between the end of the first Alien: Isolation and the impending sequel. Axis animation (the studio we recently highlighted here) will be producing seven episodes set to stream in April.

Our Take

Sega is not known for spending bunches of money to produce anything that’s going to help advertise any one of it’s properties, and that goes double for a property inspired by the Alien franchise that didn’t sell very well and received mixed critical acclaim. So either this series is going to be poorly produced in a bunch of areas or it’s not happening, we’ll see!
