David Hasselhoff Talks His ‘Ted 2’ Cameo

Ted 2

David Hasselhoff is one of many famous faces with either a starring role or cameo in Seth MacFarlane’s Ted 2, and from the sound of it, The Hoff had a grand old time filming the sequel.

Calling his part “fantastically hysterical,” the 62-year-old actor also filled fans in with some background on his casting.

“I met Seth MacFarlane when I did the Comedy Central Roast,” Hasselhoff told CBS News. “He was just so amazing because he was such a big fan of mine, growing up watching Knight Rider and Baywatch. Especially my music. I think he’s a secret singer. He just loves to sing. And he knows that I sing and he knows that I’ve made a living going around the world, doing my own shows. We really hit it off.”

Of course MacFarlane’s love for singing isn’t really much of a secret, given the fact that he has flexed his vocals on shows like Family Guy and American Dad, along with a couple records, and numerous live shows.

The Hoff’s appearance will tie-in with his Knight Rider role, “And it’s kind of self-effacing,” Hasselhoff revealed. “It kind of puts me down, which I kind of like a lot. And it gives me a chance to set the record straight and it’s really, really, really fun. It’s a short bit in the movie. But when we filmed it the response was phenomenal.”

Hasselhoff’s only complaint? He was never asked to appear in the first Ted film. “I’m going, ‘Hey, where’s the phone call to me?'” he joked. “I could have done a cameo in that!”

In addition to the former Baywatch star, Ted 2 also includes a cameo by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. In an interview with Bill Simmons on the ESPN podcast B.S. Report, the film’s star, Mark Wahlberg, claimed he got lost in the QB’s dreamy baby blues.

“I kept staring into his eyes,” he said. “I kept saying his eyes are so blue — bluer than Daytona Beach and Spring Break!” Adding, Brady “does an amazing job.”

Ted 2 hits theaters June 26th.
