Crunchyroll Buys Right Stuf Anime E-Tailer

Sony’s Crunchyroll is continuing a busy year in acquisition with this latest news, that being that Crunchyroll has purchased popular anime e-tailer Right Stuf Anime. The move comes as the latest acquisition over the past year that has seen Crunchyroll merge with Funimation and have begun the process of shuttering Wakanim and VRV to have everything under the Crunchyroll umbrella.

The acquisition will allow Crunchyroll to expand it’s offerings beyond streaming which will include a wider array of merchandise for online purchase including manga, home video, figures, games, music. As for Right Stuf, branding decisions haven’t been made as of yet, but this begins the end of a story that began 35 years ago. Since then, online rivals like Amazon have come into focus as an all-in-one solution for home release acquisition.

This huge announcement comes as Crunchyroll readies it’s Crunchyroll Expo which kicks off today and goes through the weekend. Keep it locked here as we cover all of the English dubbed news and announcements.
