“Crossing Swords” Voice Nicholas Hoult Watches A Lot Of “Family Guy” Which Should Help Here

Hulu’s Solar Opposites is continuing to get critical acclaim, and for good reasons, and now the streaming service’s next adult animated series, Crossing Swords, is on tap for a June 12th bow with Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road/X-Men: First Class) as the show’s lead “Patrick”. Turns out, Nicholas is a huge fan of Family Guy, so much so, that when he was auditioning for X-Men: First Class, he had to do a “Stewie” impression for whatever reason. In any event, it must’ve worked because Nicholas got that job in the role of “Beast”.

But, how much of Nicholas’ affinity for Family Guy will have an influence on “Patrick” for Crossing Swords on Hulu? It’s hard to say, right now. “Patrick”, is said to be a goodhearted peasant who lands a coveted squire position at the royal castle. His dream job quickly turns into a nightmare when he learns his beloved kingdom is run by a hornet’s nest of horny monarchs, crooks and charlatans. Even worse, Patrick’s valor made him the black sheep in his family, and now his criminal siblings have returned to make his life hell. War, murder, full frontal nudity—who knew brightly colored peg people led such exciting lives?

In some ways, Stewie is a black sheep of the Griffin household, so maybe there’s a connection there? In any case, here’s a clip of Nicholas telling GQ about him auditioning with “Stewie”.
