Corner Gas Animated Nominated For Six CDN Screen Awards

Hit  animated series Corner Gas Animated has been nominated for SIX CDN Screen Awards for the 2020 iteration  of the show set to go down on March 29th. Award categories include Best Direction for Stephen Evans/Mateusz Garbulinski, Best Writing for Diana Frances and Kate Hewlett, Best Performance for Brent Butt and Eric Peterson, and Best Animated Program or Series which is the big one.

Corner Gas Animated is a Canadian animated television series, created by Brent Butt. The series is an animated revival of the sitcom Corner Gas that follows the everyday lives of the residents of the small town of Dog River, Saskatchewan. This series is similar to the original, live-action series, but the creators have acknowledged that the animated format will give them opportunities to do stranger and more unrealistic things that the live-action version could not have depicted or filmed. For instance, cutaway gags in the animated version have included a Mad Max spoof and a gory fight between a Sasquatch and a unicorn.

Corner Gas Animated was ordered for a third season by CTV last year. American-based fans can stream the series in it’s entirety on IMDB TV.
