Spoilers Below:

Bubblegum’s spa day is interrupted by an adventurer named Stanley Nougat, who reveals a great treasure to her. Bubblegum gets fired up, and is determined to win. She sends an invitation to Finn and Jake, challenging them to a hot balloon race. Hearing that there will be a prize for the winner, Finn and Jake eagerly agree.

The race is split into two teams: Finn, Jake, and Stanley on one side, and Bubblegum, Marceline, and LSP on the other. Turtle Princess acts as the official reporter. Jake says that the random balloon race seems rather fishy, but Finn pays no mind. Bubblegum admits to Marceline that she finds the trip suspicious as well, but she’s been so bored lately that she needs something new to make things exciting.

Finn and LSP are both impatient when it comes to how slow balloons are, and they try to speed things up. Finn pulls on one of the cords in his boredom, which sends their balloon flying down. They accidentally agitate a pack of squirrels and have to fight them off. The excursion ends up by the first point: a golden statue.

In an attempt to remove the statue’s shoes, they end up knocking it over and unleashing a pack of fire-breathing deer. As a giant one emerges from the temple, Stanley manages to dispatch it with a harpoon. As Jake and Finn marvel over the guacamole, Stanley tells them there’s more up ahead.

Overview:

Not much to say, this is mostly setup for the arc ahead. The cast seems to universally agree that the quest is incredibly suspicious, but they ignore that in favor of relieving their boredom. Stanley has never been introduced before, so he’s an entirely new character completely linked to this quest. He seems incredibly suspicious, even though he hasn’t done anything yet, but we’ll have to see.
