More on the culprit…

Spoilers Below:

The Princess Competition continues, with Muscle Princess eliminated. In the interim, the princesses have to dance the tango with lizards, and fence with sea wizards. While Flame Princess does fine, Wildberry Princess suddenly slips on a strange patch of purple goo and is nearly eliminated. Finn and Jake inspect the goo, but when Jake touches it, it slips away. They try chasing it down but fail to find it.

Bubblegum announces the next competition, Trivia Mania. Several trolls are running around with signs around their necks. Each sign has a question and an answer, and the princesses have to capture the matching trolls. The princesses are having trouble on their own, so Breakfast Princess and Flame Princess team up. Turtle Princess catches a troll, but it suddenly turns into a cupcake. As a result, she is eliminated. Flame Princess and Breakfast Princess go to the podium to explain their actions. Flame Princess notes that working together is allowed, while Breakfast Princess sharply adds that if LSP can participate, then two princesses can work together. The cupcake slowly melts into the mysterious goo and crawls away.

Finn and Jake have chased the goo into the woods, far away from the competition. They wonder about what it could possibly be when suddenly they hear a deep growl. Flame Princess and Breakfast Princess resolve to work together, and LSP conspires to break them apart.

Overview:

This issue is the middle of the story, so it’s more focused on the events rather than revealing anything new about the characters. The culprit has not been revealed, but they are a type of goo that has the ability to shapeshift. It also has the ability to speak in its borrowed form, which is unlike anything we have seen so far.

Although Flame Princess has had some trouble interacting with people in the past, she quickly teams up with the equally competitive Breakfast Princess. While they seem like an unlikely duo, they are both very straightforward with their desire to win, so their determination should get them far.

Nothing particularly outstanding, but worth a read to see how the story moves along.
