Comedy Central Sets Up Animation Deal With Bento Box

This could be good.

Bento Box Entertainment has set up a deal with the same network in which they used to have shows like Brickleberry and Legends of Chamberlain Heights on…Comedy Central.

That’s right, according to Deadline, Bento has entered into a non-exclusive digital development deal that will be applicable for digital and social platforms like Facebook Watch and Youtube, working with burgeoning talent. If the network picks up an animated series for television, Bento will have the first chance to animate the series. The brilliant Ben Jones will executive produce the aforementioned projects.

Our Take

It looks like Comedy Central is doing everything they can to get this animation thing done right. They recently inked a similar deal with the producers of Ugly Americans, and have picked up Malltown USA for development. Jones is as good as anyone at spotting new talent, having done so for FOX’s Animation Domination HD with such series as his own creation in Stone Quackers and executive producing intellectual properties like Lucas Bros. Moving Co, Axe Cop, and more.
