Chris Distefano-Produced Animated Series Currently In Dev At Comedy Central

That’s one way to wrap the year.

Comedy Central is getting ready to close one full year without debuting a new animated series for any of it’s platforms though it looks like there are signs of life. We did get word on an animated series featuring some of the people behind Broad City along with a call for animated shorts from new producers. The only other news on the animation front, Comedy Central had ascertained syndication rights for The Cleveland Show, King of the Hill, and BoJack Horseman to join the likes of the powerhouse known as South Park. Other efforts include Betches and a deal with Bento Box Animation in an attempt to spur some originals, however, nothing green lit as of this writing.

In it’s latest effort, Comedy Central has inked an overall deal with Chris Distefano, and as part of that deal, it looks like Chris is developing an animated series for the network. As of now, we don’t know the name of it or the premise, but it’s like Distefano would be attached to star along with being a producer of some sort. As of now, no word yet as to when the series would premiere, but it most likely wouldn’t be anytime soon.
