Bubbleblabber’s Winter 2017 Animated TV Preview (POST TCA 2017 Edition)
TCA’s 2017 is nearly wrapped, here’s an update of all the shows that have been scheduled for the Winter/Spring season. Check back as we’ll update when we get additional dates and times.

We’ve never been more excited about the death of a franchise as we are about this one-hour “Graduation Day” special airing this Saturday Night starting @ 730 pm ET/PT. This has been a long and painful burn and just like a band-aid, it’s time to rip and throw it away.

The first run of Star Wars Rebels post Rogue One will see the return of a familiar voice, however with only a few episodes left, will we get answers about that Obi-Wan cliffhanger from the last year’s final episode?

Joyce Carol Oates guest stars in the 2017 premiere of The Simpsons that sees Marge consult a Japanese book to learn about minimalism. Glenn Close and special couch gags will dot the rest of the way, but get ready for a rocky schedule with the NFL Playoffs getting ready to commence.

Just in time for the NFL Playoffs, All-Pro Tight End Rob Gronkowski will be guest-starring on an upcoming episode of Family Guy which will premiere in a couple of weeks. We also know that we embark on a new year of Family Guy knowing that there will be only two more episodes to feature Carrie Fisher in the voice role of “Angela” following her recent passing.

This Sunday will see the first episode of Bob’s Burgers since Thanksgiving weekend 2016 at a special time of 930 pm ET/PT. The episode is entitled “Ex Mach Tina” and in it when Tina hurts her ankle, she is left with no choice but to telecommute to school. After enrolling in a program that allows her to send a robot version of herself to class, Tina finds herself having an unexpected breakthrough with Jimmy Jr. Will technology be the thing that finally unites Tina with her biggest crush of all time?

Disney XD’s lone Warner Bros.-produced series is getting a two-hour block of new episodes on January 9th. In total, six episodes of the freshman series will air in the month of January making it the only sketch series of the year so far airing on cable or broadcast television. Comparatively speaking, we had about 10 sketch shows for all of last year.

The one-time TripTank short gets its own series and having seen the first three episodes, I can tell you that this might be an early favorite for best new series of the year.

Adventure Time embarks on its final year on Cartoon Network. A week later we get hit with a mini-series that will already be on DVD for about a week before it premieres. Grab your trunks, we’re going to the islands!

The end of the month sees five brand-new episodes of Steven Universe’s fourth season.

The 2016 best animated sketch series returns with all-new episodes!
Created by and EP’d Kris Wilson, Rob DenBleyker, and Dave McElfatrick of ExplosmEntertainment, The Cyanide & Happiness Show is a 15-minute series based on the popular web comic. Among the segments: God takes hostages, spring breakers are locked in a life-and-death struggle against a mighty Dicksquid and the patriotic Star Spangled Bastard solving the immigration and gun-control problem. The series exec produced by Studio71 got a 10-episode Season 3 order.

The series follows the adventures of Titanium Rex (voiced by Cranston, who’s also the series’ executive producer) as he struggles to live with and fight alongside the Millennial-aged, often lackadaisical members of The League of Freedom. Yvette Nicole Brown(“Community”) joins season two alongside returning voiceover stars Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”), Emmy® Award-winner Keegan-Michael Key (“Key & Peele”), Chris Pine (“Star Trek”), Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street), Heidi Gardner (The Groundlings),Tucker Gilmore (Frozen), and Zeb Wells (“Robot Chicken”).

Season Premiere: April 5th @ 10 pm
The upcoming season of Archer:Dreamland revolves around the hardboiled private eye Sterling Archer and his quest to find his partner’s killer in 1947 Los Angeles. The case proves to be more difficult than expected after Archer quickly gets mixed up in a deadly game of tug of war between L.A.’s most powerful crime bosses. The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin, Jessica Walter, Aisha Tyler, Judy Greer, Chris Parnell, Amber Nash, Adam Reed and Lucky Yates.
