Bubble UK: 3e set to premier new series ‘NewsBag’

Starting on October 12, Irish Network 3e is set to launch its first prime-time animated series known as NewsBag. The series comes from Icehouse Studios (a spin-off of Brown Bag Studios) and will span 10 episodes with a 22-minute run-time for each.

According to IFTN, ‘Newsbag’ will follow the exploits of the titular news organization, set up in Ireland by a New Zealander millionaire in order to avail of the tax breaks. Revolving around new media journalists Lenny, Gig and Moss, the series’ first episode sees the trio accidentally intercept US President Barack Obama during a state visit to Ireland and bring him on a tour of ‘Paedophile Island’, an off-shore reserve where the public can hunt shamed Catholic priests at their pleasure.

Gerard Barrett is a writer on the series and says the series is a cross between South Park and the I.T. Crowd and you can check out a clip below. The series premiers October 12 @ 10pm only on 3e.
