Bubble IE Review: Ends Meet S1 Ep10

The wheels on the bus go round and round…

Overview:
The children go on a school tour outside of Dublin, a trek they consider beyond the pale. For some, this is their first time outside the city, and the episode provides a not wholly unrealistic portrayal of how city-dwellers might react to seeing the countryside and the differing lifestyle there.
Much to Sean Og’s dismay, Beezer ends up going along on the trip to help look after the children. All children find their parents embarrassing, and Beezer is more embarrassing than most. It is not long before he and Sean Og come to a disagreement, and Beezer temporarily “adopts” another pupil to teach Sean Og a lesson. Ultimately, of course, Sean Og and Beezer decide they are best suited to one another.

Our Take:
It’s good to see the show venture outside the capital’s walls, as it is somewhat more reflective of life in most of Ireland. A school trip to the countryside is a very common annual trip for Irish school children – it’s cheap and easy to organise. We empathise with Sean Og’s embarrassment at Beezer’s behaviour.
This week’s episode sees our characters bussing to Navan – the childhood home of Irish comedic greats such as Dylan Moran, Tommy Tiernan and Arthur Matthews. Does this inspire the writers of this show to make this a funny episode? I guess you’ll have to watch it to find out!
