BOOM Studios’ First-Look Deal With Netflix Includes Potential Animation Pipeline
BOOM Studios, best known around these parts of comic book adaptations of Regular Show, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe, has entered into a first-look deal with Netflix. The comic book publisher already has 20+ projects in various stages of development for streaming services like Amazon, HBO Max, Peacock, CBS All Access, Disney+, but Netflix saw an opportunity and pounced on it to take advantage of an original catalog that includes Lumberjanes, Something is Killing the Children, Once & Future, and Mouse Guard.
BOOM! Studios CEO and Founder Ross Richie and President of Development Stephen Christy will Executive Produce all shows developed through the pact which includes animated series adaptations. It’s unknown which original BOOM property will get the animated treatment just yet. 20th Century FOX was working on a Mouse Guard movie pre-Disney buy, but then Mickey came along and squashed it.
Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
