“Bob’s Burgers” Promotes Nora Smith To Co-Showrunner #WomenInAnimation

This is a bigger deal than just a re-up.

The year 2019 could very well go down as one of the most pivotal years in the history of animation, more specifically as it adheres to women in animation. The girls are coming and they are bringing the goods in a lot of different ways. Whether it’s Yeardley Smith getting awards for her good will outside of her work on The Simpsons, Lisa Hanawalt’s upcoming Tuca & Bertie or Full Frontal with Samantha Bee animating their host and bringing awareness to various social causes, this year is a milestone year in what will hopefully be a growing trend in the industry.

This is another big deal. Because Bob’s Burgers’ Nora Smith has re-upped her deal with 20th Century FOX that will not only continue her stay with one of the world’s biggest producers of animation, but will also serve as a co-showrunner on Bob’s Burgers. The executive producer also wrote the upcoming Bob’s Burgers movie and co-created another series called  Central Park which just got a sneak peek at the recent AppleTV+ unveil.

Bob’s Burgers is taking a break from airing originals this upcoming weekend and will return April 7th with an all-new episode airing @ 830 pm ET/PT, check your local listings.
