‘Blue Collar Comedy’ Series gets a start date/time on @CMT

Wow, this took a while. Details after the jump.

CMT

This will be good because now I can watch something while waiting for FOX’s ADHD to premier @ Midnight EST on July 27th because about two weeks earlier CMT’s long-awaited animated series Bounty Hunters now has a start date and time.  What’s interesting is that the premise  sounds none too dissimilar to the network’s recent acquisition of Dog and Beth’s : On the Hunt as it follows the animated likenesses of Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy. Here is an excerpt from a recent press release:

BOUNTY HUNTERS – Premieres Saturday, July 13 at 10:00 p.m., ET/PT
The network’s first animated comedy stars the voices of Jeff FoxworthyBill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy, as they track down fugitives for their own two-bit bounty hunting business in each of the 13 half-hour episodes.  The team will do their best to chase down fugitives, while trying to please the tough-as-nails bondswoman who throws them cases, voiced by Lisa Lampanelli.  The guys will have to deal with friends and family like Jeff’s sassy ex-wife and her smarmy new husband, voiced by “The Daily Show’s” Samantha Bee and Jason Jones; and the local rednecks like Jesco (who just so happens to be Jeff’s dad) voiced by comedy great Dave Thomas. Their bounties are always peculiar and are voiced by guest stars like Kellie Pickler, and Blake Shelton voices the guys’ rival, Bounty Hunter Buck Masters.  BOUNTY HUNTERS is produced by Muse Entertainment and Parallel Entertainment.  It is co-created by Glenn Clements, Ben Levin and Matt Burnett, and is executive produced by Foxworthy, Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy, as well as Joel Rice, Michael Prupas and Jesse Prupas for Muse Entertainment.  JP Williams and Jennifer Novak executive produce for Parallel Entertainment.

I gotta tell ya. This has a pretty stacked cast and especially with additions like Lampanelli, and the outrageously amazing duo of Jason Jones and Sam Bee. This isn’t the first time Lampanelli has lent her voice to an animated series as recently she was on the Season Finale of The Simpsons. Jason Jones did voices for Fugget About It and Sam Bee was stellar in an episode of Phineas and Ferb a few months back so this one could be pretty good. Expect reviews, previews, and the whole shebang as we get them.
