Blu-Ray Review: THE ROBOT CHICKEN WALKING DEAD SPECIAL: LOOK WHO’S WALKING

Besides the specials, it’s a rare treat when we get a Robot Chicken home release. In what used to be a yearly event, the usually jam-packed Robot Chicken home releases are fewer and far between which is a real shame because the producers do a hell of a job of giving us good bang for our buck.

Likewise, THE ROBOT CHICKEN WALKING DEAD SPECIAL: LOOK WHO’S WALKING Blu-Ray has some killer special features. Included are commentaries on the episodes from the producers, cut sketches, and a slew of featurettes that help HOW this critically-acclaimed special came to be. By far and away, “Inside the Robot Chicken” featurette is the most informative of the bunch, with “Bawkward”, “Sketches to Die For”, and “Behind the Screams” were a bit hokier and not as educational.

That’s probably the biggest drawback for the release.For starter, I would’ve liked to have seen more insight on behalf of the producers/cast of The Walking Dead. I also would’ve liked to have seen more insight from the tech producers to SHOW us how the production of the special came to be and were there any challenging scenes that had come to pass.

Overall, a bit more polish is what needed to hold a candle to Robot Chicken home releases from the past, but already this is one of the best home releases of the year so far.
