Bento Box Co-Founder to Speak at NY Television Festival

UPDATE 8 pm: The Wrap has uncovered new and additional details concerning Bento Box’s drop by the NYTF. Joel will be a part of “Animation 101: De-mystifying Primetime Animation in the Digital Age” — a panel discussion at the Helen Mills Theater in New York City. That event is slated for Saturday, Oct. 24, at 2:15 p.m. Moreover, NYTF and Bento Box are partnering to offer a development deal to a producer or production team selected from this year’s festival. In the past, Comedy Central and other networks have setup similar deals.

Bento Box is one of the busiest animation studios in the business right now. The studio will soon have two shows on FOX (Bob’s Burgers and the upcoming Bordertown), and are the studios that have brought to you such awesome fare as Brickleberry, The Awesomes, and the soon-to-air Legends of Chamberlain Heights for Comedy Central.

Sounds like if you were to get the opportunity to hear from the co-founder of Bento while trying to produce a series of your own and get it on TV, going to the New York Television Festival tomorrow might be a great idea because Joel Kuwahara is going to be there.
