Back in 2015 nobody knew what to expect when DC and IDW announced that they would be releasing a crossover miniseries featuring Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  As soon as the comic hit the shelves, it was clear this was the team-up that we deserve.  It was so successful that they had to do it again in 2017, and now there is even a third volume of this series being released this month.  Now we are getting an animated film that would break any kid in 1994’s brain.

The heroes in a half-shell and the Dark Knight are going to be sharing the screen on May 14th, so get your breakfast cereal ready.  Check out the official synopsis that should get you even more excited:

“”Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” finds Gotham City reaching new levels of danger when Shredder joins forces with Ra’s al Ghul to enact a nefarious plan – leading to the team-up of the Dark Knight and the Turtles to combat the combined might of the Foot Clan and League of Assassins!”

Today, DC, Warner Bros., and Nickelodeon dropped some significant teasers for this epic crossover.  Three new screenshots are showing off the incredible animation we can expect.  We also have our first look at the box cover, which should fit quite nicely on our DC shelves at home.

For fans that cannot wait, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the full opening scene of the film.  Within the first minute, we already get our first look at all four turtles, Batgirl, and the Dark Knight himself.  Evidence that this movie is going to be cram-packed with superhero goodness.  Check out the scene for yourself:

The only thing that could make us more excited is the incredible cast.  Troy Baker (Batman: Arkham Origins, The Last of Us) will be the first person ever to play Batman and Joker in one film. For the shell heads Emmy Award winner Darren Criss (American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace, Glee) plays Raphael, Kyle Mooney (Saturday Night Live, Brigsby Bear) is Michelangelo, Baron Vaughn (Grace and Frankie) plays Donatello, and Eric Bauza (Looney Tunes Cartoons, The Woody Woodpecker Show) is Leonardo.

We owe it to all of our 8-year-old selves to watch this movie over and over.
