Awards Roundup: LA Film Critics Name Best Animated Film ; Animated Shorts Noms For Oscars Race ; Annies

The Breadwinner is getting serious attention.

The Annies have recently revealed their list of nominees for the 2018 rendition of their awards ceremonies, and you can see them here.

Among the highlights, Big Mouth, BoJack Horseman, Rick and Morty, The Breadwinner, and Loving Vincent are all nominated for Annies.

The Annies are on February 3rd @ 7 pm.

 


The Academy Award noms will be announced January 23rd, 2018, and Deadline reports that the list of Oscar nominees for animated shorts is now down to ten finalists:

LA Films Critics Association has awarded The Breadwinner as the best animated film of 2017.

The Breadwinner follows Parvana who is an 11-year-old girl who lives under Taliban rule in Afghanistan in 2001. After the wrongful arrest of her father, Parvana cuts off her hair and dresses like a boy to support her family. Working alongside a friend, she soon discovers a new world of freedom and danger. Drawing strength from the fantastical stories she invents, Parvana embarks on an epic quest to find her father and reunite her family.
