Only this time, it’s not 100% Reddit.

Network television continues to ride the free social trains in hoping for solid ratings for their series. With the Heidi Gardner-hosted Reddit AMA really not going anywhere for the upcoming franchise, Syfy has opted to try Instagram this Wednesday for another AMA. Details are in the aforementioned link..

ALIEN NEWS DESK is a weekly, half-hour topical animated series set in an extraterrestrial newsroom. Voiced by Emmy® nominated comedian Will Forte (alien news anchor “Drexx Drudlarr”) and “Saturday Night Live’s” Heidi Gardner (alien co-anchor “Tuva Van Void”), the 12-episode series will cover up-to-the-minute news and commentary about the universe’s most baffling species – the inscrutable Humans of Planet Earth.

ALIEN NEWS DESK is produced by Broadway Video and Bento Box Entertainment. “Saturday Night Live” creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels serves as executive producer alongside “Saturday Night Live” producer Erik Kenward, also executive producing. “Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update” head writer Dennis McNicholas serves as executive producer and showrunner, with Scott Gairdner (“Moonbeam City”) as co-executive producer. Joel Kuwahara and Scott Greenberg from Bento Box Entertainment serve as executive producers.

Alien News Desk will premiere on February 27th @ 11 pm ET/PT, only on Syfy with 12 episodes to air weekly.

Adult Swim is jumping on Reddit this week as well, having announced that Hot Streets creator Brian Wysol will be taking part in a number of forums to offer his advice on anything and everything that might not necessarily have anything to do with Hot Streets. You can go  here and here through March 3 to get in on the Reddit action. Solid contributions from users will get gold status points from Brian.

This season on Hot Streets, Agents Branski and French investigate “Hot Streets” cases, the FBI’s most dangerous and strange paranormal missions. They are aided by Branski’s niece, Jen Sanders, and her cowardly dog, Chubbie Webbers. It’s an absurd and electrifying mix of high-concept science-fiction and horror!

Catch season two of “Hot Streets,” Sundays at midnight ET/PT on Adult Swim.
