“Alien News Desk” Headed For Possible Cancellation With Move To Saturday Nights On Syfy

Last rites?

Remember Syfy’s lofty speech about wanting to get into adult animation after their pickup of Alien News Desk and the syndication rights of Futurama? Welp, that appears to be short-lived as the network has moved Alien News Desk has been moved to Saturday Nights starting March 16th @ 11 pm ET. Typically, when a cable net moves an original series to a Saturday Night slot, it’s essentially The Green Mile before cancellation, so if you’re into the series, this may be your last ride with it.

Alien News Desk focuses on alien news anchors Drexx Drudlarr (Will Forte) and Tuva Van Void (Heidi Gardner), as they tell the news about the earth from an aliens perspective.

Our Take

In fairness, this one had cancel written all over it before the premiere. The network spent zero dollars on any sort of marketing towards the promotion and we’re actually kind of digging the series. In any event, the Bento-produced effort looks ready for an early exit.
