Alf Clausen Suing Disney/FOX and “The Simpsons”

You may remember a couple of years ago all of the hoopla surrounding Alf Clausen’s sudden termination from his long-standing job as the music composer for The Simpsons. Welp, get ready for another helping because Alf is suing 20th Century FOX/Disney for age and disability discrimination as the reasons for his termination. Bleeding Fingers Music has since taken over music composition responsibilities after Alf composed nearly 570 episodes.

Rumors at the time via producers from the longest-running animated series in primetime were that the cuts were as a result of the show switching from live-band music production to that of a digital one, thereby saving boatloads of cash in production costs.

Recently nominated for a 2019 Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program, THE SIMPSONS exploded into a cultural phenomenon in 1990 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative global entertainment franchises. HOMER (Dan Castellaneta), MARGE (Julie Kavner), BART (Nancy Cartwright), LISA (Yeardley Smith) and MAGGIE are instantly identifiable around the world. The Emmy Award-, Annie Award- and Peabody Award-winning animated comedy will celebrate its 31st season this year.

THE SIMPSONS is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The series was created by Matt Groening and developed by James L. Brooks, Groening and Sam Simon. Brooks and Groening are executive producers. Al Jean also serves as an executive producer and the series’ showrunner. The Gracie Films Worldwide Brand Division develops and produces the licensed content for the series.
