Adult Swim Releases Second “Rick and Morty” Official Trailer For Season Five With A Quarter-Hour Episode Animated In 16-Bit Side-Scroller Fashion

It’s Upfronts week in the TV business and typically every April Fool’s Adult Swim we get a chocful of teasers for upcoming premieres slated to appear for the rest of the year. That didn’t happen this year, and it doesn’t appear Adult Swim is doing much of an Upfront this year, but along with a new quarter-hour 16-bit animated promo produced by Paul Robertson, the network has released a second trailer for the fifth season of Rick and Morty which is slated to premiere June 20th @ 11pm ET/PT.

The trailer is more or less the same as the first trailer, just this time around we get a somewhat dated Vampire Weekend track on the overlay. Fortunately, the slightly more additional footage included in the almost two-minute trailer just makes me want to watch more Rick and Morty which is essentially what the point was here.

Synopsis:

Rick and Morty is a show about a sociopathic scientist who drags his unintelligent grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. Created and executive produced by Dan Harmon (Community, Channel 101) and Justin Roiland (House of Cosbys).
