Adult Swim News: “Birdgirl” ; “Skeleton Landlord”

A recent Adult Swim trademark filing for Birdgirl appears to have officially revealed the show’s logo that will be used in the already ordered series and you can see it below. It’s quite a departure from the Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law logo, but I like it. The Paget Brewster-starring half-hour series has a log line that explains further about the show’s premise:

After being named CEO of the world’s largest and most nonsensical corporation, Sebben & Sebben, Judy Ken Sebben (aka Birdgirl) has to find a way to maintain her work/superhero life balance. Through the halls of the company headquarters she assembles her Birdteam!  By day, they try to drag the company into this century. By … midafternoon, they usually end up having to break a lot of things to stop something bad that one of them may have helped cause. It’s the sort of superhero team we get at this moment

You may remember nearly a year ago a pitch on Adult Swim’s Development Meeting won $10,000 and was considered (and probably still) one of the best pitches to come across the streaming show. It was called Skeleton Landlord, a series revolving around a skeleton who manages a run-down hotel with numerous patrons that have no interest in paying rent. You can see a clip below, but according to a recent trademark filing, it appears some additional movement in the form of an ordered pilot or series must have gone underway. Whether or not we’ll see the fruits of this remains to be seen, but this is a move in the right direction. It’s worth pointing out that the series listed directly before Skeleton Landlord was ordered to series and is premiering in August.
