A rise in the popularity for the in-show fictional characters brought the release of two new Itchy and Scratchy games in subsequent years.  The first of which was Itchy and Scratchy in Miniature Golf Madness for the Game Boy.  Playing as Scratchy the cat, the goal is to complete a nine-hole miniature golf course while defending and avoiding Itchy’s attacks.  The side scroller features many obstacles as Scratchy tries to land the lowest amount of hits on the ball as possible.  Primarily being met with positive reviews, most critics enjoyed the change-up from other Simpsons titles available.
