Zooey Deschanel Producing Animated Series for FOX

 

Deadline.com is reporting that Zooey Deschanel (New Girl) is developing a new 30-minute animated series for FOX called Queen of Everything with Sophia Rossi via their Miss Hawkins banner. The series is being produced by 20th Century FOX and is being written and executive produced by Ali Waller (American Dad). According to the article:

Queen Of Everything is a workplace comedy set in a modern fairytale world. It centers on an evil queen who comes into power and realizes that running a Queendom isn’t easy when you have no people skills and everyone hates you. With the help of her staff, she’ll try to change her ways.

I’m not sure how strong this series is looking to get a pickup, but I actually liked Zooey Deschanel on her most recent stint on American Dad so maybe there’s something here. If FOX picks this up they are REALLY thinking outside the box in terms of animated ideas, so we will have to wait and see if something happens here.
