English Dub Review: Daemons of the Shadow Realm “Emotion and Reason”

Akio escapes from the Kagemoris, and Yuru comes down with a fever.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, Daemons of the Shadow Realm continues expanding the larger conflict while giving us more insight into Akio. There’s a bit of an ugly aftermath with the Kagemoris, while the episode raises several new questions and hints that something much bigger is happening behind the scenes. It keeps things intriguing without giving away too much about where the story is heading.

On the lighter side, the comedic highlights remain some of the episode’s best moments. I honestly didn’t think they’d fully commit to the joke of Hana being a massive Jason Statham fan, but they went the extra mile by covering her bedroom walls with posters of him. It’s also noteworthy that her ever-growing household continues to create plenty of hilarious chaos.

Overall, this was another enjoyable episode that mixes comedy, character moments, and world-building while setting up what looks to be an important finale. With only one episode left, there are certainly plenty of questions hanging in the air, and I’m curious to see how the series brings the season to a close.
