English Dub Review: Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. “You Can Choose Where to Grow Up”

After gaining the trust of his allies, Yamimori takes action to fight the rampaging Kaii inside the sealed barrier. Makino and Akasaka also rechallenge the front lines to face the now-overpowered Kaii with harmonious teamwork and quick thinking. The dire situation demonstrates the skill and trust between Magical Girls and their engineers as the team marches onward with full hearts.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, Magilumiere continues its high-stakes battle as newcomer Hibiki Yamimori puts his trust in his allies and works with Makino and Akasaka to confront the rampaging Kaii. Despite the danger and setbacks, the team’s coordination highlights the growing bond between the Magical Girls and their engineers. Makino and Akasaka, in particular, prove they have what it takes to handle themselves on the front lines, even under intense pressure.

The rest of the proceedings also do a good job giving several characters their moment to shine while emphasizing just how dangerous the Kaii can be. The teamwork between the Magical Girls and Igni is especially satisfying, and the characters’ determination helps carry the action. There are also a few intriguing developments in the background that raise questions about who was behind the incident and what they ultimately hoped to accomplish.

Overall, this was a solid episode that balances action, character development, and a few mysteries without giving too much away. The teamwork remains one of the series’ strongest elements, and the music by Makoto Miyazaki continues to elevate both the fights and emotional moments. My biggest complaint is that the action can still feel somewhat static, with the Kaii often remaining stationary while everyone discusses how to defeat it. Still, the episode leaves enough unanswered questions to make the wait for the next one worthwhile.
