Don Hertzfeldt’s Complete Animated Work Finds Streaming Home on Dropout

In a massive win for independent animation, Oscar-nominated animator Don Hertzfeldt has partnered with Dropout to make his complete catalog of celebrated short films, restored classics, and feature work available on the streaming platform starting August 25, 2026.

The acquisition marks the first time Hertzfeldt’s full library—spanning nearly three decades of surrealist, philosophical, and intensely human stick-figure animation—will be consolidated under a single streaming service.

The streaming package features virtually all of Hertzfeldt’s signature catalog, newly restored and presented in high definition. The collection includes:

  • The ‘World of Tomorrow’ Series: All three installments of his sci-fi philosophical epic (World of Tomorrow, Episode Two: The Burden of Other People’s Thoughts, and Episode Three: The Absent Destinations of David Prime).

  • Recent & Hard-to-Find Works: His 2024 short ME, along with a collection of his rare, hand-animated Simpsons couch gags.
