English Dub Review: Oshi no Ko “Idols and Relationships”

Overview:

Kana’s encounter with Shima looms over her and the rest of Strawberry Productions.

Our Take(Spoilers):

When Kana is confronted by the paparazzi, she runs off without her phone. Of course, Memcho and Aqua head off to try and find her. I’ll admit there was a part of me that wanted Aqua to save the day, and in a way, he did. But hearing Kana declare that she wasn’t going to let this affect her was powerful in its own way. When she said, “Help me, Aqua,” out loud, she caught herself and stopped. She realized that she could handle the problem on her own. Aqua overheard and sent Kana’s location to Memcho.

Akane, however, is putting herself in danger if I had to guess. She’s investigating Aqua’s father, and while doing so, we see a shady figure in an alley. I couldn’t tell if this was in the same area as Akane, but based on the previous scene, that would be my guess. I know that Aqua has distanced himself from Kana to keep her out of danger. So I think it would be ironic if Akane gets hurt by not telling Aqua about her current investigation. Hopefully, no one else will be dying anytime soon.
