Checking Out of Hell: Hazbin Hotel Renewed for Fifth and Final Season at Prime Video

The reservation for Charlie Morningstar’s ambitious project has an official departure date. Today, during a packed panel at LVL UP Expo in Las Vegas, Prime Video officially announced that its record-breaking adult animated musical, Hazbin Hotel, has been renewed for a fifth and final season.

The news, shared by creator Vivienne Medrano (VivziePop), confirms that the “Hellaverse” flagship will reach its epic conclusion after a five-season run, fulfilling Medrano’s long-term creative vision for the series.

A Planned Conclusion

Unlike many series that face the chopping block unexpectedly, Hazbin Hotel is getting the rare opportunity to end on its own terms. Medrano has been vocal about having a “five-season plan” for Charlie’s journey from the beginning.

“I’m so thankful for how Prime Video has championed our vision at SpindleHorse,” Medrano said in a statement. “I’m grateful for their partnership and commitment to bringing Hazbin Hotel to its epic conclusion. I’m so excited for fans to see how this story ends.”

Why It’s Ending with Season 5

The renewal comes at a unique time for the production. While Season 2 recently wrapped up in late 2025, Seasons 3 and 4 were greenlit together and are currently in active production. By securing Season 5 now, the writers can meticulously map out the endgame for the Hotel’s residents, the hierarchy of Heaven, and the ultimate fate of the “Radio Demon,” Alastor.

Expansion of the “Hellaverse”

While Hazbin Hotel is nearing its finish line, the universe is far from dormant. The LVL UP Expo panel also brought news for fans of the sister series, Helluva Boss. The first half of the 15-episode third season is set to premiere on Prime Video in Fall 2026. The move to Prime Video for Helluva Boss (which originally thrived on YouTube) signals a massive expansion for SpindleHorse’s reach.

What to Expect in the Final Act

With Season 5 officially on the horizon, fans are already speculating on the series’ major loose ends. Between the ongoing threat of the Exterminations and the complex “deal” between Charlie and Alastor, the stakes for the final season are expected to be cosmic in scale.

The production remains a powerhouse collaboration between SpindleHorse, A24, and Bento Box Entertainment, ensuring the show’s signature “Broadway-meets-Hell” aesthetic remains top-tier until the final curtain call.
