Rick and Morty Announces Premiere Date For Season Noine Noine Noine Noine
Adult Swim is officially gearing up for more multiversal mayhem, and they want fans to know one thing for certain: it’s all human-made.
“Rick and Morty” Season 9 will premiere on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. Alongside the date announcement, Adult Swim released a batch of first-look images and a characteristically irreverent synopsis that takes a direct shot at the current landscape of digital content.
The official description for the new season leans into the show’s meta-humor, emphasizing that the creative team has been hard at work without the help of artificial intelligence:
“Rick and Morty is back, baby! Season Nine is all certified bangers. No AI slop! Just Grade A organic slop, made by real humans with real human traits like back hair and cysts. Please watch, or we’ll have neglected our families for nothing.”
Adult Swim President Michael Ouweleen echoed this sentiment, praising the creative team for “pouring an absurd amount of talent and brilliance into these episodes.” He promised that from the very first frame, fans will see “high-concept insanity” combined with some of the best character writing in the show’s history.
The Returning Cast and Crew
Season 9 marks the third consecutive season for lead voice actors Ian Cardoni (Rick) and Harry Belden (Morty), who took over the roles in Season 7. Returning alongside them are Sarah Chalke as Beth and Space Beth, Chris Parnell as Jerry, and Spencer Grammer as Summer
The show remains under the leadership of co-creator Dan Harmon and showrunner Scott Marder, who recently revealed that production on Seasons 8, 9, and 10 was managed simultaneously to ensure narrative coherence.
For those who can’t catch the premiere on Adult Swim, episodes will be available for digital purchase the day after they air. U.S. fans can expect the full ninth season to arrive on streaming platforms Hulu and Max on August 31, 2026.
While fans wait for the May 24 premiere, a new clip from the season is scheduled to debut across Adult Swim’s social media channels tomorrow, March 12.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
