English Dub Review: Hell Mode: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World With Garbage Balancing “Born Again at Bottom-Tier”

Overview:

A hardcore gamer is reborn when he chooses to play on Hell Mode difficulty. Now he needs to figure out how his summoning skills work while still a baby.

Our Take:

I’ve recently been playing through a lot of video games in the Resident Evil series. You can beat one of those games in an average of 8 hours or so. Meanwhile, this guy gets upset when a game takes only three years to beat. He’s so upset that he wants a game that takes ten years to beat. When he finds a game that promises to be crazy difficult, he signs up, but then he’s transported to another world and has to go through being a child again.

He’s given the name Allen, and I believe he’s voiced by Luci Christian. I never thought I would hear her say “suckin on titties is great and all,” but since she’s voicing a character who’s a toddler, I guess it makes sense. But I had to rewind and listen a couple of times because I thought there was no way I had heard what I did. I love an isekai as much as the next guy, but I hope that there is some sort of explanation for why he’s in a whole new world. What happens once he “beats” the game, for example? I hope we get to see.
