English Dub Review: Dusk Beyond the End of the World “Overlooking the Expanse of Days Past”

Overview:

They say true love conquers all, but sometimes, even love isn’t enough. Especially when secrets and lies threaten to tear people apart.

Our Take(Spoilers):

If you were invested in the relationship between Casuta and Vare, then I have some bad news for you. It’s hard to say if they split up permanently or not, but it feels that way. Casuta still loves Vare, but it seems that she can’t bring herself to forgive him for cheating on her. This little storyline was a stepping stone to the big reveal we’ve been waiting to see since Akira woke up.

There are still plenty of questions I need answers to, but we did find out that this Akira is an android. This conflicts with all the memories he has; are they implanted, or was he always an android? I assume we will get some answers to these questions, but that remains to be seen. I imagine Towasa is long gone, but now it seems like his relationship with Yuugure has some giant hurdles to clear. The contrast between their relationship and what happened between Casuta and Vare was definitely intentional. It seems like we are going to be going at a breakneck speed to the end now, and I hope that it nails the landing.
