English Dub Review: Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You “I’ve Liked You This Whole Time”

Overview:

After a fight breaks out with Syugo and Kizuki, the friend group reunites for the first time in years.

Our Take(Spoilers):

I don’t know what it is about the Japanese, but they apparently sure love their melodramatic unrequited love stories. I’ve been in a situation like that, and I can promise you it’s not as enjoyable or “honorable” as they make it out to be. I can’t see a world where two or three people who are all in love with the same person wait around for ten years or so. At least in Shin’s case, it seems like he’s sleeping around at the very least, but even then, he’s still hung up on Mizuho. Not only that, but there’s a girl in his class at med school who’s in love with him but realizes he’ll never love her.

“As long as I can see their smile, that’s enough.” Syugo and the girl in love with Shin both say this, and that’s asinine behavior. By all means, you can continue to care about and support a person, but I don’t see people acting this way in real-life all that often. I don’t know why situations like this bother me so much more than seeing someone shoot energy blasts out of their hands, but it’s weird to me. I would also like to see why Kizuki ended things with Mizuho; it feels like there’s a big part of the story we’re not getting.
