Warhammer Animation Explodes into 2026: Three New Series Confirmed

The “grim dark” future is looking brighter than ever for animation fans. Warhammer Community has officially unveiled the first three projects in its 2026 animation slate, promising a year filled with high-stakes combat, legendary heroes, and the signature carnage of the 41st Millennium.

Building on the success of hits like Pariah Nexus and The Tithes, Games Workshop is doubling down on high-quality storytelling for its Warhammer+ subscribers. Here is what’s coming to your screen starting this February.

1. Adepta Sororitas: Penitence

Leading the charge is a new three-part series focusing on the fan-favorite Sisters of Battle. Titled Adepta Sororitas: Penitence, the show is produced by the same creative teams responsible for the visually stunning Pariah Nexus.

While specific plot details remain under wraps, the title suggests a deep dive into the Sisters’ themes of faith, sacrifice, and brutal redemption. Fans won’t have to wait long—the first episode is scheduled to debut on Warhammer TV next month.

2. Aeronautica

For those who prefer their war at Mach speed, Aeronautica is a three-part series dedicated to the high-flying dogfights of the 41st Millennium. This series will feature a diverse cast of factions, including the Imperial Navy, Orks, and Aeldari.

Expect the series to showcase the distinct aerial combat styles of these races—from the lumbering, dakka-filled flyers of the Orks to the graceful, lethal maneuvers of the Aeldari.

3. Hammer and Bolter: Butcher’s Nails

The anthology series Hammer and Bolter returns with a standalone episode that lore enthusiasts will recognize immediately. Butcher’s Nails is described as a high-octane, blood-soaked episode that packs “as much bloodshed and carnage into its shorter runtime as any other show might across a whole season.”

Given the title refers to the neural implants used by Angron and his World Eaters, viewers should prepare for a visceral look at the Chaos Space Marines’ descent into mindless violence.

The Return of a Legend: Astartes

Perhaps the most exciting “one more thing” from the announcement is the confirmation that Astartes—the groundbreaking project that set a new gold standard for Warhammer animation—is officially set to return later in 2026. This follow-up to Syama Pedersen’s original work has been one of the most anticipated projects since the creator joined the Warhammer animation team.

How to Watch

All three shows, along with the eventual return of Astartes, will be available exclusively on Warhammer TV for Warhammer+ subscribers. The action kicks off in February 2026 with the premiere of Adepta Sororitas: Penitence.
