English Dub Review: Jujutsu Kaisen “Execution; One More Time”
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
Yuji tries surviving in the ruins of Shibuya, but powerful factions wish him dead to end Sukuna’s threat. However, this is soon interrupted by the announcement of the Culling Game.
OUR TAKE
Years after the last season ended, we are back with more Jujutsu Kaisen! Well, technically it’s already released, but only people like me who saw the half compilation movie (also titled Execution) would have seen it by now. Yes, while these episodes were combined together to make up the latter half of the movie, following an abridged recap of the Shibuya Incident Arc, now they are being PROPERLY released as separate episodes. So, a lot of what I’ll say here will be similar to what I said when I reviewed that film, such as the fact that this is following up from that arc with Yuji now with some permanent face scars and trying his best to stay away from people, lest Sukuna somehow take control and cause more damage. Well, it seems that the higher ups at Jujutsu High aren’t taking any chances, as due to those events, there have been some changes to who’s in charge and what policies are being taken into consideration. For one, Gojo was sealed by the fake Sugaru Geto, meaning the only one holding up Yuji’s execution (eh? There’s that word again) that was ordered at the start of the series is now gone, so he’s back on the menu.
On top of that, due to the death of the head of the Zennin Clan, a new douchey head takes his place named Noaya, who races off to kill Yuji to cement his authority. And he won’t be alone, as Yuta Okkotsu accompanies him with the stated motive of getting revenge for one of his friends from the movie he starred in, though really he’s there to help Yuji out. Oh, and Chozo is also there because it’s revealed that Yuji’s mother may have been the brain thing that’s in Geto, which is why Chozo suddenly started thinking of Yuji like one of his brothers since Chozo and his brothers were also made by that thing. Megami also arrives to let Yuji know about the Culling Game involving numerous sorcerers and brings him and others to find Tengen, the immortal Jujutsu sorcerer that’s been talked about many times before. And now we are back where we once were and await actually new episodes for us to watch and analyze, which it seems are already getting everyone more massively hyped if the reception to their subbed version is anything to go by, so consider me hyped too!

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
