OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)Yuri meets another two new crewmates, Chipie and Comet, and must once again deal with weeding out two Gnosia infiltrators.OUR TAKEThis week on Gnosia, it’s more new characters and more new mechanics, as Setsu gains the “Doctor” credential, which allows them to check for sure if someone voted to be put in cold sleep actually is a Gnosia, something that really only comes in handy when there are more than one among the crew, which luckily there are this time. As for the new crewmates, there’s Chipie, a guy who loves cats so much he is transitioning his body into a cat. That’s pretty strange on its own, but apparently his preferred method of doing this is attaching a cat body through his neck so his mind can get used to controlling the cat. Well, it’s a free galaxy after all. Then there’s Comet, the half naked girl who seems to have tattoos, but are actually a living organism on her body from her home planet, so I guess she, Chipie, Yuri, and Setsu all seem to have that in common. And as learned last episode, Yuri takes this opportunity to learn more about these two, which further fills up the Silver Key with information to hopefully stop the loops. Obviously it’s going to take a lot longer to fully complete it, but it’s solid progress. However, beneath the introduction of new characters and job credentials, there is a major lesson in this episode for Yuri: learning to talk just enough to not seem suspicious, as well as detect when someone may be protesting their innocence a bit too much. Yuriko is once again a part of this crew, and while she was quite convincing in previous loops, Yuri notices she insists on being the Engineer a bit too hard, while Stella uses the information from the job tactfully and not in a way that would benefit her if she were a Gnosia (also her and Comet both get a lot of fanservice angles this episode, just pointing that out). Through their newly honed deduction skills, Yuri is able to convince the crew to vote for Yuriko, leaving only one Gnosia left…who quickly reveals itself as Chipie, deciding that him being found out was likely inevitable. With that, it’s another victory, though Yuri is once again thrown back to the beginning of the first day, and once again faced with another new crew member. I guess we’ll see how this new guy switches things up next week, as we approach what may be the halfway point of the series.
