Review: Hazbin Hotel “Weapon of Mass Distraction” ; “Curtain Call”
Overview:
Hazbin Hotel wraps up its second season with its last two episodes, “Weapon of Mass Distraction” and “Curtain Call.” With various figures scheming against each other, the war between Heaven and Hell is about to start.
Our Take:
“Weapon of Mass Distraction” starts off with Lucifer being lured into a trap to talk with Charlie, only for it to be Vox using her voice. After boasting that he knows Lucifer can’t do much against him, the TV-headed demon reveals he has a special use for him: making him into a battery to power his new weapon, the Might of Lilith.
Of course, the best finales are the ones that leave fans wanting more. The episode offers fans one hint on what to expect next with Charlie’s last word, “Mom?,” teasing the eventual return of Lilith.
Viewers have waited since the start of the season to see Sir Pentious finally have his big moment when he “phones home” in the finale’s climax, and make contact with those down below. Ultimately, it proves to be worth the wait, especially with his exchange with Cherri, his once self-proclaimed “”archnemesis.” It’ll especially get fans wondering if they will get to see Cherri heading upstairs anytime soon.
Overall, the season has proven to be an emotional rollercoaster, with all sorts of plans coming together, for better or worse in the final battle. “Curtain Call” even took advantage of the show’s streaming nature to be a little longer than usual, making sure each of the characters get some bit of focus in the story.
