From the combined talents of Dana Terrace, John Bailey Owen and Zach Marcus, Independent animation powerhouse Glitch Productions is proud to debut KNIGHTS OF GUINEVERE, a psychological thriller that welcomes you to a planet-wide theme park in the clouds!… And the shadows below, where a broken Princess Android is two dreamers’ tickets to better lives, or the end of them.
Created by director/writer Dana Terrace, co-creators/writers John Bailey Owens, Zach Marcus and produced by Glitch Productions co-founders Kevin & Luke Lerdwichagul, KNIGHTS OF GUINEVERE is a psychologically thrilling adventure that sees Andi and Frankie, two destitute android engineers embark on a deep rabbit hole of fantastical horrors. Since their fiercely independent and deeply creative beginnings in 2019, Glitch has quickly expanded its initial portfolio of fully self-funded and independently produced 3D animated properties including THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS, MURDER DRONES and THE GASLIGHT DISTRICT resulting in a mass community of over 16 million followers on YouTube. Now entering its eighth year, the studio’s content is also prominently featured on multiple streaming platforms around the world, including Netflix and Prime Video.
With the launch of the KNIGHTS OF GUINEVERE pilot, Glitch Productions boldly ventures into new territory with its first-ever 2D animated series. Determined to bring the imaginative vision of Dana, John, and Zach to life, the team embraced numerous challenges including building an entirely new production pipeline, resulting in a distinctive art style and rich storytelling that complements Glitch’s existing slate, reinforcing its reputation for pushing creative boundaries and fearlessly exploring new frontiers.
Best known as the visionary creator and writing talents behind the acclaimed series Owl House, Dana Terrace, John Bailey Owens and Zach Marcus have developed a pilot that masterfully weaves together grit, morbid curiosity, endearing whimsy, and sweeping adventure, a story that unsettles yet captivates, irresistibly compelling you to keep watching. Inspired by boundary-pushing works such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, Paprika, and Scavengers Reign, KNIGHTS OF GUINEVERE delivers a gripping, genre-spanning narrative that, like Glitch’s mission, blends a distinctive art style and emotionally resonant storytelling for a global audience that sits in the undeserved space in between current animated content either aimed at young children or adult comedy.
“Knights of Guinevere is a passion project that me, Zach, and John have the privilege to make with some of the BEST artists, animators, musicians, and production crew we know.
And thank you, Glitch, for reaching out in the first place and making ALL this possible. There is no universe where this could’ve been made at any other studio. Thank you for trusting us to do what we know how to do: make dope shit!” said co-creator Dana Terrace.
Adding to this, CEO, Glitch Productions Kevin Lerdwichagul writes “Knights of Guinevere represents an exciting new chapter for Glitch as we expand into 2D animation for the first time. Our mission has always been to tell bold, emotionally resonant stories that sit in the underserved space between kids’ cartoons and adult comedies, and this pilot perfectly embodies that ethos. We’re thrilled to collaborate with visionary storytellers like Dana Terrace, Zach Marcus, and John Bailey Owens to bring this dark, psychological tale to life and to share it directly with everyone around the world.”
KNIGHTS OF GUINEVERE is a sci-fi psychological thriller set on Park Planet, a planet-wide amusement park floating above the sky whose crown jewel is Princess Guinevere, an android mascot created by the park’s team of space engineers, designed in countless forms and celebrated as the wonder and beauty of the park. Yet behind the spectacle lies a troubling and dark story tied to the park’s owners. Floating high above the surface, the park casts a shadow over the scrappy, rustic towns below, one of which, M7, becomes home to our story. We meet Andi, a junior space engineer working for park planet, and Frankie, a chipper merch-factory worker who scavenges scrap with her father, Sparky, aboard their worn-down fishing boat. Their lives shift dramatically when Frankie discovers an abandoned Guinevere android , which she hopes will lift her out of her dead-end work and into a future as an engineer for the park. Reluctantly aided by Andi, the two infiltrate the park’s secret labs to restore the android, unaware of the horrors waiting for them.
The debut pilot of KNIGHTS OF GUINEVERE is now streaming for free on YouTube. Glitch Productions remains committed to creating fully self-funded and independently produced projects, made possible through the ongoing support of its community. Stay tuned for future updates on the potential continuation of KNIGHTS OF GUINEVERE.
