Overview (Spoilers Below): Lilisa wants absolutely nothing to do with Otoha anymore. Unfortunately for her, that’s easier said than done since the drummer refuses to leave her alone.
Our Take: These so-called “proper” ladies may have shared a common interest in rocking out, but as we saw in the previous episode, that doesn’t automatically make them friends. Obviously, the reason was Otoha’s profane comments towards Lilisa’s “lackluster” performance with her guitar. Consequently, the mad-as-hell Lilisa decided to stay as far away from Otoha as possible to focus on her goal of becoming a “Noble Maiden”. However, it appears to be a lot harder than it sounds, as Otoha relentlessly stalks her around the school all day, striving to convince Lilisa to play with her again. Even though Otoha apologized for her behavior, Lilisa wouldn’t have been pissed off if Otoha hadn’t said those things about her guitar-playing in the first place. I understand that Otoha was in the heat of the moment, but that doesn’t excuse her from going too far with her comments. Another problem Lilisa faces is that she’s slipping up with her etiquette facade more so than in the previous episode due to her playing the guitar again. She strives to become a Noble Maiden to make her mother feel welcome in the new family. However, her struggle further demonstrates that it’s only a matter of time before her true passion returns to her life. While the episode doesn’t feature much rock ‘n’ roll, unlike the previous one, it utilizes the show’s tranquil break to further explore Lilisa’s challenging new lifestyle as a high-class lady. One such case is her violin lessons with her stepsister, Alice. Clearly, Alice hates Lilisa’s guts as much as the stepsisters feel towards Cinderella, and Lilisa’s skills on the violin aren’t as delicate as her stepsister’s. Amid Lilisa’s psychological urge to reignite her rock ‘n’ roll passion and compete against Otoha, her strained relationship with Alice might also play a key role in her development, if that were to be the case. The pacing was a bit offbeat compared to its first session, but the second episode managed to regain its momentum long enough to complement its Yuri-type humor and the characters’ evolving “friendship”.
