Ham gets embroiled in the cutthroat world of local weather. Judy and Moon pursue an assassin

Our Take

And so layeth down the final episode of The Great North…for the summer. That’s right, the show gets a proper send-off in September, until then, we get to relive an adventure of Ham doing anything he can to get the top spot at a local weather station whilst Judy and Moon investigate an assassination attempt that doesn’t really go anywhere.

Had there actually been the assassination attempt, perhaps Judy and Moon’s storyline would have been more fun, but really this was just a case of somebody wishing to kill their boss and never really going through with it which is a sentiment 90% of working America can get behind, that other 10%? Well, that’s almost Ham who nearly kills his temp boss while trying to become the new weather dude which is a pretty fun premise that does really well here complete with hysterical sequences of Ham being in a green suit and then a sword fight with weather map objects at the end.

Overall, a pretty solid episode that could’ve been better in the B-plot department, but this Asha Michelle Wilson-written tale does a good job of helping lift up an anchor before this ship sales into the Northern Pacific…to where? Who knows, but there’s only one way to find out, see you in a month for the final episodes of the show’s fifth season
