English Dub Review: Rent-a-Girlfriend “Promised Time and Girlfriend”
Overview:
Mami finally confronts Chizuru. How will this explosive situation turn out?
Our Take:
I am one of the biggest haters of Kazuya around, but even I have to defend him when it comes to what Mami is trying to do. Sure, he can be a little creepy, and his social skills are practically nonexistent, but I don’t think he’s a dangerous stalker. He ultimately has a good heart and would probably do these things for Chizuru, Mami, Ruka, and many others, whether he had feelings for them or not. But Mami can tell that her first plan didn’t work, so now if she can convince Chizuru that Kazuya is dangerous and that she’s her friend trying to protect her, then she might finally be able to split them up. Why is she so obsessed with their situation? All I can think of is she’s like a little kid who was done playing with a toy, and then seeing someone else enjoy it pisses her off.
Don’t get me started on Ruka either. She lies to Chizuru and tells her that she and Kazuya have had sex. She’s trying to get Chizuru to leave him alone, but baby girl, this ain’t the way to do it. When can we see Sumi again? At least she’s not trying to mess with anyone.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
