Overview:
Marin represents her class in the school beauty pageant and discovers she can cosplay.
Our Take:
What I think I loved most about this episode was Gojo finding out that a lot of people care about his well-being. With the school festival coming up and Marin being asked to be in the beauty pageant, he thought he was going to have to pull double duty with his class and make Marin’s cosplay. But when he went to help his classmates, they politely told him not to worry about it and that he should focus on Marin’s costume. They knew he would try to do both and burn himself out, but they weren’t having it, and I thought it was nice to see others show that kind of compassion for him, not just Marin.
There’s a twist to the beauty pageant; it’s a drag pageant as well. Meaning Marin will have to dress up like a guy. Lucky for her class, there is a character who dresses in drag that she’s been wanting to cosplay. The character is a woman who dresses up as a guy to work at a host club, so that counts, right? She didn’t quite know how to take it when she realized Gojo had all her measurements memorized, but ultimately she decided it was a good thing.
