English Dub Review: My Dress-Up Darling “800 Million”

Overview:

Marin decides to make Gojo a bento for the first time, while Gojo grapples with the memories of his past fried rice incident. Simultaneously, preparations for the school’s cultural festival, including the beauty pageant, are underway, with Marin brainstorming ideas with Nowa and others.

Our Take:

If anyone is looking to learn how to make a rom-com, then you need to take notes from My Dress-Up Darling. My only problem with this show is the fact that the romantic progress is pretty slow. But considering the fact that most rom-coms fall into that trap, I can’t be too upset with it. The interactions between Marin and Gojo are amazingly top-tier.

Marin made Gojo a bento, and because of past experience, he spent the entire day being nervous about lunchtime. I’ll admit it seemed like there was a joke I was missing out on during all the lunches. When Marin handed Gojo the spam onigiri, he thought to himself, “Why is it so heavy?” and then the rest of the lunches seemed to bother him for some reason.

Gojo didn’t account for the shapewear that Marin would be wearing to flatten her breasts down. So the coat ended up being a little too big. But he plans to fix it before the pageant. I love it when Gojo gets serious.

Error happened.
