OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)Alicia and Nelluru flee from Drel’s Wizards while Clevatess confronts Drel himself.OUR TAKEWell, it seems the tables have turned quite a bit for our party, as not only are they on the run from Maynard, Naie, and a horde of ravenous insects, but Maynard has managed to turn the townsfolk that were housing them against them by reminding them that Alicia is one of the thirteen heroes of legend that doomed their kingdom in the first place. I mean, that was mainly because they attacked and angered Clevatess back in the first episode, but…hey, at least Alicia seems to have reconciled with him! Oh, that’s worse? Well, shit. Yeah, I can see why that group would probably not be well liked in a kingdom that now has no leadership and is being besieged by invaders. I wonder how they would feel about Clevatess looking after the only heir to throne then…probably not too happy, I’d imagine. Well, that sets up an interesting problem for Alicia to face next time, so maybe the good hearts of the townsfolk will prevail in helping them against the insects. Might help if they’re able to stop Maynard and Naie, then at least they’ll have that to mark them in the good column. Or maybe things will get worse, you never know!As for our titular Dark Beast Lord, I actually did not piece together that he had gone off on his own in the last episode. I kinda just thought he would be back soon after, but it seems he has decided to go after Drel (not Dorel, damn you wikipedia) himself to nip this whole problem in the bud. This has…not good results, as Drel reveals not only his current power, being able to use his Regalia to trap things in his own blood, but also that he plans to end the legend of the thirteen warriors that he views as having led the kingdom astray for so long. And if he can gain a legend for himself of taking down one of the Lords of Dark Beasts, especially the one that killed the last king, well that’s all the better. Of course, we still have five more episodes in the season, so it’s unlikely that Clen is going to be restrained in that for long, but all of this shows that Drel is by no means a force to be underestimated, and his next direct target is going to be Alicia, who is without Clen’s assistance and protection for the first time since she was brought back to life. Things are, without overstatement, quite dire.
