In a landmark move, the creators of the long-running and often controversial animated comedy series “South Park,” Trey Parker and Matt Stone, have reportedly secured a staggering $1.5 billion streaming deal with Paramount. The five-year agreement, made through their Park County Production company, is valued at an impressive $300 million annually. Specific details of the detail aren’t public yet but are expected to be by the time the show creators hit the Comic-Con stage on Thursday. Furthermore, the deal is for ten episodes per season though it’s unknown what this means for the original movies South Park Studios has been producing.

The primary aim of this lucrative deal is to bring the iconic and irreverent animated series to Paramount’s digital streaming platform, Paramount+. “South Park,” known for its foul-mouthed child characters and its satirical take on current events and pop culture, has been a staple of television for decades.

This substantial investment by Paramount underscores the immense value and enduring popularity of the “South Park” franchise. The deal aims to solidify Paramount+’s content library and attract subscribers with a well-established and highly recognizable brand.

The news comes amidst previous reports of a streaming rights dispute between Paramount and the show’s creators. Earlier in July 2025, “South Park” was temporarily removed from Paramount+ in international markets due to the expiration of a licensing agreement. Negotiations for a new deal have been ongoing, and this $1.5 billion agreement suggests a significant resolution and a strong commitment from Paramount to secure the future of the series on their platform. HBO MAX was reportedly in negotiations to co-stream the series with Paramount but those negotiations fell through over the weekend. HBO MAX’s five-year agreement expired in June.
