Overview

When the criminals of Grimsburg go on strike, the police force gets furloughed.

Our Take

“How To Lose An Ankle Monitor In 10 Days” is actually the premise of this week’s B-plot featuring Dr. Rufis Pentos making a deal with a number of striking criminals to get his ankle monitor removed so as to feel like he’s one of the villains now on strike who feel it’s too expensive to keep doing crime and want better conditions for their jobs leaving the police force just sitting around and not fighting crime. Meanwhile, we get to meet Martina’s much more criminally-inclined family that features her homicidal sister Tina and her conservator father.

Overall a pretty standard episode of Grimsburg with not a ton of meat on the bones. Nothing really jumped out at me in terms of dialogue or plot that had me thinking this week’s episode wasn’t anything more than pedestrian. T.G. Hopkins’s direction is pretty legit having done multiple episodes this season featuring a lot of scenes that do a great job of clashing the comedic with the overtly NYPD Blue dramatic which helps offset some of the more drab dialogue that the show continues to showcase time and time again.
